為了提供給居民一個健康及環保的居住環境，現今的屋苑越來越注重綠化。綠化空間需要定期進行植物種植及保養，在過程中不免産生園林廢物。在颱風季節，園林廢物的數量更是加倍。出色的園林綠化管理，不單是可以打造一個美麗的綠化空間，更應包括盡量減少及妥善處理衍生的園林廢物，降低堆填區的壓力，以支持可持續發展。
